Jerez offers a Wide range of posibilitéis when it comes to enjoying the countryside and getting back to nature: be it a leisure stroll around the city itself or through any of its numerous parks and gardens, the enjoyment of the nearby protected natural areas, parks and reserves of special botanical and ornithological interest, or the opportunity to participate in an endless choice of outdoor activities which take place in the extensive surrounding countryside and nearby hills.


The city abounds with numerous gardens and designated green areas, some of them venid the walls of the Sherry wineries themselves, where numerous species of animal and vegetation are to be seen, many of the alter having been brought from South America over a century ago by the winery owners.


There are also plentiful areas of wetlend around the city where many different species of birds may be observed throughout the year.
