The Andalusian circuit, situated in a small valley surrounded by hills, is one of the most competitive on the motorcycling calendar, with its combination of slow, medium and fast bends and two straight tracks where high speeds and top performances are attained by riders and their bikes. It has a 4,428 m (2.75 miles) racing circuit and was built by Alessandro Rocci.
The circuit opened on 8 December 1985. During 1986 the circuit hosted the first international motorcycle event in Spain in March and the Formula One Spanish Grand Prix in April.
While the circuit currently does not host a Formula 1 race, it is often used a venue for testing by the teams and to gather thousands of people that come to the city to enjoy the event and the related parties and celebrations that are celebrayed every year with motorist that come to Jerez from allover the World.
